Golf Day
Posted Thu 22 July, 2010.
The first Blue Water Marine Golf Day looked destined to fail, as thursday evening turned into a disaster zone, with winds reported as high as 87 mph, Abersoch Beach was littered with small sailing boats and Porthmadog Harbour had seen several boats break there moorings. I really expected to see a ‘Course Closed’ sign as i turned into the golf club car park, but fortunately this was’nt the case and by the time we were ready to tee off, the clouds had cleared and the winds had dropped. A few had backed out in the days leading up to the event, but still a healthy 32 players were’nt put off by the forecasts. A great day was had by all, typically some good golf and some bad…we had 5 hole in one prizes, from a set of Taylormade golf clubs to a Yamaha Waverunner, and nobody bothered to get one…i think on reflection the idea to have a buggy running around the course with Beer and Water on was’nt the best…we had run out of Beer after 1 hour and had to send for more…strangely i still have plenty of water left. There was one team that stood out from the rest, led by Mr. Doug Baker…(now known as ‘Bandit Baker’), he was the overall winner finishing with 41 points, his partner Mr. Rob Passingham finished 2nd with 39 points, and with a healthy 38 points in 3rd place was Mr. Adrian Woodhouse. Doug Bakers team also won the best team competition with 100 points. We have a lot of thank you’s to dish out namely David Pougher from Yamaha Motor UK, Thomas and Harriet on the Beer Buggy, all at Abersoch Golf Club for making the day run smoothly, Ian Barclay for having the patience to sort out the scorecards and Chris Harford for conducting the prizegiving. This will be an annual event, we plan to make bigger and better year on year.

Yamaha’s race truck took centre stage at this years event housing Waverunners, Quads, Outboard Motors and Yamaha clothing. The truck was a huge success with thousands of visitors passing through.
Refreshments were served from the rooftop viewing platform and this proved to be the best place to view all of the action.

A Rare Passion
ALTHOUGH FAIRLINE WAS BORN OF ONE MAN’S VISION MORE THAN 40 YEARS AGO, THE SAME PASSION FOR EXCELLENCE, DEDICATION TO CUTTING-EDGE TECHNICAL ADVANCEMENT AND PEERLESS CRAFTSMANSHIP STILL RUNS THROUGH THE COMPANY TODAY. IN ALL THE MOTOR YACHTS THAT MAKE UP THE FAIRLINE RANGE, THAT RARE PASSION SHINES THROUGH.
Now an international luxury brand recognised and appreciated the world over, and the winner of many recent awards from the marine industry and the press, Fairline enjoys an unusual level of customer loyalty, largely as a result of two key factors; the commitment to building yachts that lead their class in terms of design, technical integrity and quality - and the focus placed on customer satisfaction and service at every stage of ownership.
In short, we build a line-up of world class yachts that deliver matchless pleasure and enjoyment to their owners. We do so with great pride in our work - and with a rare passion that fully reflects the original ethos and long heritage of the Fairline brand.
